Get a good look at the features of the Sony WF-1000XM4 in this leaked video

  • A promotional video of the Sony WF-1000XM4 has leaked.
  • It confirms all the specs and features of the true wireless earbuds.

The Sony WF-1000XM4 are the most hotly anticipated true wireless earbuds right now. While Sony is yet to announce a launch or release date, multiple leaks have already outed their refreshed, more compact design as well as upgraded specifications. Now, a leaked promotional video spotted on Reddit by SparrowsNews shows the WF-1000XM4 in action, confirming all of its new features.

The video starts by teasing the “industry-leading noise cancellation” of the WF-1000XM4. It also shows that the earbuds will feature Sony’s integrated V1 processor, new drivers for a fuller, richer sound, support for LDAC and Hi-Res Audio, and DSEE EXTREME AI technology to reproduce frequency responses of the original sound source lost during compression.

Further, the leaked video of the WF-1000XM4 shows that it borrows some features from the Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless headset. For instance, you’ll get the Speak-To-Chat function that automatically pauses playback when you start a conversation. You’ll also get Sony’s Adaptive Sound Control for adjusting ambient sound levels based on your environment.

The WF-1000XM4 will feature bone conduction sensors to detect speech vibrations, Google Assistant and Alexa support, wireless charging, and IPX4 certification for protection against splashes.

The text in the video confirms that the earbuds can function for eight hours at a stretch with ANC switched on. The battery life can further increase to 16 hours with the charging case. So in total, you can get 24 hours of playback with ANC.

With noise-cancelling turned off, you can seemingly get 12 hours of playback from the buds alone and another 24 hours with the charging case. That’s a whopping 36 hours of usage.

Clearly, the new Sony buds are all set to give the AirPods Pro a run for their money. They won’t come cheap, though. The previous iteration of the true wireless earbuds launched for $230. With the new design and features, we expect the Sony WF-1000XM4 to launch around $250 or maybe a bit more.
