iOS 17.5.1 now available with fix to prevent deleted photos from reappearing

  • iOS 17.5.1 is now available to all users globally. It patches a serious iOS 17.5 bug that caused deleted photos to resurface.

Last week, some iPhone users running iOS 17.5 discovered that random photos they’ve deleted in the past have returned to their phone’s libraries. The issue was clearly unrelated to iCloud, as some affected users have never used the service to sync their photos. To address this local storage bug and prevent deleted photos from appearing again, Apple has released iOS 17.5.1 to the latest iPhones.
